Radio One Sports 92.7 WFNZ-FM Harrisburg/Charlotte NC is adding ESPN Radio network content starting today.
WFNZ-FM will carry ESPN Radio programming in nights and weekends along with play-by-play from MLB, NBA, and College Football playoffs. The network had lost its Charlotte clearance when 2G Media’s “730 The Game” WZGV Cramerton/97.5 W248CO Charlotte flipped to Sports Betting “InsideTheGame.bet“ in July.
WFNZ-FM Program Director Jeff Rickard said, “ESPN has long set the standard for covering the biggest live sporting events and the athletes who define them. We’re thrilled to team up for premier play-by-play and insightful nightly conversation. Combined with our award-winning local lineup, this partnership gives Charlotte the very best in local and national sports coverage.”
Radio One Charlotte VP/General Manager Marsha Landess stated, “We could not be more excited to be ESPN’s new radio home in Charlotte. The iconic sports brand of ESPN and the historic sports brand of WFNZ 92.7 makes a perfect combination to deliver our Charlotte sports fans the best in local and national sports coverage every day of the week on a strong and powerful FM signal. We now truly deliver the best of the best!”
With the addition of ESPN Radio content, WFNZ-FM drops Infinity Sports Network from nights and weekends.
