Townsquare Media Conservative Talk 1280 WGBF Evansville IN is the next AM to announce the end of its operations.
WEHT-TV reports that the 102 year-old station, which was the first in the market, will go silent on December 31. The report notes that Townsquare is reviewing its options for the property including selling the signal.
WGBF operates with 5kW non-directional day and 1kW directional night. The company has not noted whether the current format, which registered a 1.6 share in the Spring 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings (down from a 3.1 the year prior) will relocate elsewhere. Many of the shows on WGBF also air on sister 1490 WOMI/99.1 W256CF in nearby Owensboro KY.
WGBF’s lineup currently features all-syndicated talkers including The Dave Ramsey Show in mornings from 5-9am, Premiere Networks’ trio of Glenn Beck (9-11am), Clay Travis and Buck Sexton (11am – 2pm), and Sean Hannity (2-5pm), and Westwood One’s Mark Levin 5-8pm. America At Night, Free Talk Live, and Coast to Coast AM run at night.
Townsquare Media also owns Country 99.5 WKDQ, Rock “103 GBF” 103.1 WGBF-FM, AC “My 105.3” WJLT, and CHR “Kiss 106” WBKS in Evansville.
