Three Eagles Adds Management Of KSBV

Heart of the Rockies Radio Group Salida Three EaglesAfter failing to close on its sale earlier this year, Three Eagles Communications’ Heart of the Rockies Radio Group is instead expanding in Salida CO.

Three Eagles began operating Arkansas Valley Broadcasting Classic Rock “River Rat Radio” 93.7 KSBV Salida via LMA on Friday, August 1. President/COO Gary Buchanan told the Mountain Mail, that he had been approached by KSBV owner Marc Scott for help managing the station while dealing with severe health issues. He said, ““Our goal is to grow the radio station into a profitable local business that serves the listening area. It gives us the authority to run the radio station on behalf of the Scott family.”

On the company’s website he commented, “I’m excited to be able to share our community values that we’ve provided the last 11 years at Heart of the Rockies Radio and now be to able to share them on the River Rat and give listeners the classic rock that they deserve.”

Three Eagles had agreed in August 2024 to sell its cluster of Hot AC “92.3 The Peak” KVRH-FM Salida, Oldies “Hippie Radio 97.5” KWUZ Poncha Springs, “Eagle Country 104.1” KBVC Buena Vista, and 1980s Hits “102.9 The Valley” 1340 KGKG/102.9 K275CR Salida to Jake and Emily Rishavy’s Highwater House Media. However, the $1.75 million deal failed to close and was withdrawn in January.
