A little over a year after dropping its “Star Radio” branding, Loud Media has returned the Classic Hits brand to its 1160 WSSV Mechanicville/93.3 W227DW and 96.1 W241DM Saratoga Springs NY.
WSSV had operated as “Star Radio” from May 2019 first as an AC before evolving to Classic Hits until flipping to Variety Hits “Lake-FM” in September 2024. After its then-simulcaster 93.5 WLGR Warrensburg was sold, WSSV had flipped back to Classic Hits with a focus on the 1980s as “93.3 Fun-FM” in June.
Loud Media CEO Aaron Ishmael said, “We are so excited to bring this iconic brand and identity back to Saratoga Springs and the surrounding area, now with two FM frequencies to better serve our listening audience.”
The station is now promising “a refreshed classic-hits format combining nostalgia with vibrant energy”. Eric Woodhouse who is now serving as Brand Manager and morning host said, “This is the station that initially brought me to work in Saratoga. Star, Flavorfeast, and Oreo Tiramisu from a café on Phila Street. Jerry Crouth is, of course, doing his Oldies Show every Saturday Morning and that will soon be shared across three markets. John Meaney is, of course, with us too every Saturday afternoon.”
The remained of the daily lineup on WSSV will feature YEA! Networks’ Greg Beharrell Show in middays and Dylan Ayer tracking afternoons.
