
iHeartMedia has announced the promotion of Rich Davis to SVP/Programming for its Minneapolis cluster in addition to adding Program Director duties for Country “K102” KEEY.
Davis has served as Program Director of Modern AC “Cities 97.1” KTCZ and CHR 101.3 KDWB since March 2016 following a previous run programming KDWB from 2011 to 2014 and KTCZ in 2013-14. In between, he led programming for iHeartMedia Seattle. Davis was also APD/MD/midday host at KDWB in 1997-1999, programmed WZEE Madison in 1999-2000 and WRVW Nashville from 2000-2010. He takes over the SVP/Programming role from Gregg Swedberg. Swedberg, who was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame earlier this year, has been programming KEEY since 1991 and previously KDWB. He also spent eleven years at CHR 99.5 WLOL rising through the ranks to Research Director, Music Director, and Program Director. Swedberg will move into a strategic advisory role working on national Country projects for the company.
Swedberg commented, “I’m looking forward to having the unique opportunity to help lots of stations in iHeartCountry and assisting Rich and Chad with this transition. I can’t wait for Nashville to embrace Rich, which I know they will. The iHeart Minneapolis team will just keep on winning.”
