Radio Resources Launches McFly and The Ride

Marty McFly Stew James And The RideFormer 95.5 WSM-FM Nashville and national “Nash Icon” APD/morning host Marty McFly and afternoon host Stew James are teaming up with Radio Resources to launch a new show “McFly and The Ride” for Country stations.

McFly and James both exited Cumulus Media in June. The duo previously co-hosted mornings together at 103.3 WKDF Nashville until McFly moved to WSM-TM in 2014. James would rejoin the company in 2019 as afternoon host. McFly has also spent time at WGSQ Cookeville TN, WSIX Nashville, KNIX Phoenix. as well as tracking for other Cumulus Country stations including WGKX Memphis and WVLK Lexington. The duo will be joined by singer-songwriter Morgan Alexander.

McFly said, “We are partners with stations in every aspect of local success. McFly and The Ride is built with local stations in mind — their listeners, their promotions, their revenue, their community. This is not a plug-and-play show. It’s a living, breathing extension of their brand. We are all from small towns where we are still very active in those communities and on the radio. The show has been on WGSQ Cookeville since 1998.”

The show will be customized for each affiliate to air in any daypart. James will also lead a Local Station Revenue Division for the show to develop NTR events and help local sales teams with the show selling sponsored show features and custom promotions.

Radio Resources Chief Development Officer Rich O’Brien said, “Marty McFly is the kind of personality who doesn’t just do talk breaks…he connects with listeners like an old friend, bringing energy, heart and authenticity to every show. We are excited to work with McFly and The Ride Radio Show.” Potential affiliates can reach out at rich.obrien@radioresources.com.
