Radio One Confirms Four Station Charlotte Format Shuffle As WBT Moves To 107.9

1110 WBT Charlotte 99.3 WBT-FMRadio One has confirmed it will begin a four station frequency shuffle in Charlotte on Thursday, December 11.

As first indicated in our 12/3 Domain Insight, News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte will get a full-powered FM simulcast as it replaces suburban rimshot 99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC with the 100kW Class C signal currently home to Hot AC “Mix 107.9” WLNK. 107.9 was originally WBT-FM from 1962 to 1978.

The Hot AC format and WLNK-FM calls would then move from 107.9 to what is now Gospel “Praise 100.9” WPZS Indian Trail NC with a simulcast added on 99.3 under new WMXG call letters. The moves would place the Hot AC brand on a pair of Class A rimshot signals.

The Gospel format and WPZS calls will move to what is now Hip Hop “102.5 The Block” 610 WFNZ/102.5 W273DA Charlotte and 105.3 WOSF-HD2 Gaffney.

General Manager Marsha Landess said, “”We are thrilled to elevate WBT to the FM dial, ensuring that even more listeners can connect with the voices they trust every day. These moves further strengthen our position in the market and reinforce our commitment to serving Charlotte with the best local programming, news, and entertainment.”
