Following last week’s move of Rock “Q102.1” to 92.9, Mid-West Family Broadcasting has launched Sports Betting “102.1 The Won” KOSP Brookline/Springfield MO.
The station’s lineup will mostly be made up of programming from VSiN’s Sports Betting Network along with Westwood One’s Jim Rome Show from 2-5pm. “The Won” will carry play-by-play for the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals and Westwood One’s Thursday, Sunday and Monday Night Football. The NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs will remain on co-owned Classic Rock “104.7 The Cave” KKLH, which previously also carried the Cardinals.
KKLH Brand Manager Dustin Males will add those duties for KOSP.
General Manager Brian Tyndall said, “With the success we’ve had as the radio home of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, we know there’s a huge market for sports on the radio here in the Ozarks. With the legalization of sports gambling taking effect soon, we expect even more listeners to tune in for live updates and expert analysis.”
He continued, “We will definitely have a heavy focus on local sports, including high school and college teams. There’s so much local talent and passion in our region and it deserves to be spotlighted.”
The move brings a third Sports brand to the Springfield market joining iHeartMedia’s “Fox Sports 1400” KGMY and Zimmer Broadcasting’s “96.9 The Jock” 1060 KBFL/96.9 K245CA.
