After 25 years as VP/General Manager for Radio One Raleigh, Gary Weiss will retire from the company at the end of the year.

Weiss has led the cluster since August 2000 after previously holding the same role for the Max Media turned Entercom cluster in Greensboro NC from 1993 to 2000. He also has held sales roles in markets including Cleveland, Miami and Tampa since starting his career in 1976.

He will be succeeded in Raleigh by Radio One’s VP/National Sales Mitch Galvin starting November 1. Galvin has spent his entire career in Cincinnati holding sales roles at Clear Channel and Hubbard before joining Radio One’s cluster in 2010 as Local Sales Manager. He rose to General Sales Manager in 2013 and General Manager in 2016 before moving to his national role in 2019.

Radio One Division Co-President Eddie Harrell Jr. stated, “We are grateful for Gary’s leadership and dedication over the past 20 years. His commitment to our audiences, advertisers, and communities has left a lasting impact. We are confident that Mitch will carry forward our strong foundation in the Raleigh market and build on the current momentum.”
