After more than seven years in mornings at iHeartMedia AC “Mix 100.7” WMTX Tampa, Laura Diaz will depart the station on Friday, September 5 as she takes a position outside of media.
She told listeners on Tuesday morning, “It is time for me to start a new chapter of my life and I’ve decided to step away from the show and I will be pursuing a career outside of the radio business. Yeah stepping away from media.”
Diaz joined WMTX in January 2019 following a seven year run as co-host of “Johnny’s House” on CHR “XL 106.7” WXXL Orlando. She also has worked as a television anchor and reporter in Orlando and Monroe LA.
Co-host Brody, who joined WMTX in April 2019, will remain in mornings. Brody previously hosted nights at CHR 93.3 WFLZ from 2014-19 and has also worked at WFKS Jacksonville, WJHM Orlando, WKSS Hartford, WXXL Orlando, and KUPL Portland.
