Nearly one year after debuting a new Spanish News/Talk lineup on 1140 WQBA Miami, Latino Media Network has pulled the plug and is currently running Spanish Soft AC sans imaging or branding.
WQBA had shifted from Spanish Sports back to its heritage News/Talk identity in August 2024 positioned as “El Pulso de Miami” with a lineup featuring hosts including Oscar Haza, Pedro Sevcec, Neida Sandoval, Jose Alfonso Almora, Julio Cesar Camacho, Liz Rebecca Alarcón, and José Pérez Córdoba (Carlucho). The station previously featured a News/Talk format from 1967 until 2016 when it became part of then-owner Univision’s “TUDN Deportes” network.
Cafe Fuerte reports that the new brand suffered out of the gate with significant financial losses and the inability to find advertisers in the community. It says that sister Spanish Conservative Talk “Radio Mambi 710” WAQI may see changes as well.
WQBA had a 0.6 share in the June 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings.
