One day after making “The Woody Show” available to stations in multiple formats and dayparts, Premiere Networks’ show will debut in afternoons on Hubbard Rock/Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT Collinville IL/St. Louis MO.
The move marks a return to St. Louis for Woody as he previously hosted afternoons in the early 2000s and then co-hosted mornings with current morning host Scott Rizzuto from 2009 until he left to join iHeartMedia Alternative “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles in 2014. “The Woody Show” anchored mornings on iHeart’s competing “Alt 104.9” St. Louis from 2016 to 2020.
Operations Manager Tommy Mattern said, “We’re thrilled to welcome The Woody Show to 105.7 The Point. Woody’s connection to St. Louis runs deep, and his show perfectly reflects the energy, humor, and edge that Point listeners love.”
Hubbard St. Louis Market President John Kijowski added, “Our commitment to great talent is what drives The Point’s success. From The Rizzuto Show dominating mornings, to Donny Fandango connecting with listeners through mid-days, and now with The Woody Show joining afternoons, 105.7 The Point continues to deliver the most compelling personalities in alternative rock radio.”
Woody stated, “I appreciate the opportunity to once again be a part of a legendary station like The Point. St. Louis is a very special place for me. It’s where I met my wife, where my kids were born, and where I grew my career. There’s a saying that you can always go home — and trust me, it’s true. I’ve certainly put it to the test.”
It’s the first expansion for The Woody Show outside of morning drive, which is nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks.
With the addition of “The Woody Show”, former afternoon host Liv Maddix has exited KPNT in what she was told was a budget cut.
Prior to arriving in St. Louis in August 2022, Maddix held a dual role in her native Maine co-hosting mornings at Townsquare Media CHR “Q97.9” WJBQ Portland and afternoons at Alternative 94.3 WCYY under the name ‘Brittany Rose’. She also spent a year co-hosting mornings at Country” “B98.5” WEBB Augusta.
