Bonneville International Country 105.1 KNCI Sacramento is conducting a search for an afternoon host as ‘Pacey Williams’ Cervantes has departed the station for a position outside the industry.
Cervantes posted last week, “Today is a very emotional day for me. A career which has spanned almost two decades is coming to an end. It’s very rare for people in radio to be able to leave on their own terms, I’m so happy I was able to do so. I am leaving radio in order to pursue something so big that my hands are shaking even typing this. It’s something I’ve been working on for almost a year now. November 5th will be the day I will be able to announce it. Now the work really begins…”
Cervantes had hosted afternoons at KNCI (and nights at sister Hot AC “Now 100.5” KZZO) since 2018 after previously hosting mornings in the market at iHeartMedia Classic Hip Hop “V101” KHYL. He has also held on-air roles at multiple stations in San Diego and San Francisco and currently hosts mornings at iHeartMedia’s “Pride Radio” and weekends on “Star 101.3” KIOI San Francisco.
KNCI is seeking “our next fulltime Live PM Drive personality (this job will including a daily voice tracked shift on another station within our cluster).” They ask, “Do you understand and embrace all that goes with doing a show in a PPM universe? Do you understand need for real content in your show? Are you submerged in country pop culture and everything that surrounds it? Do you annoy people with how much you are on social media? Do you understand how this audience lives their lives? Are you someone who can embrace great charities/organizations and love being out in public to support them?” Full details on the position can be found here.
