KLPX2 Shuts Down

KLPX2 KLPX Tucson HD2 Deep CutsLotus Communications has shut down its Deep Cuts Classic Rock “KLPX 2” 96.1 KLPX-HD2 Tucson AZ.

A brand extension of Classic Rock 96.1 KLPX, the primary station will add a Deep Cuts specialty show in 2026 to replace the HD2 and stream.

In an post on the Deep Cuts Facebook page, Lotus Tucson Operations Manager and KLPX Program Director Larry Mac wrote, “We want to thank you for listening to KLPX-2 Deep Cuts for the past decade plus. Unfortunately, because of rising costs with operating a station that has no revenue coming in, we are shutting down on December 15th, 2025, Thanks for the support over the years. We will be starting a DEEP CUTS Specialty Show on 96.1 KLPX sometime in 2026. More info on that in January! Again, Thank you for your support over the years! – LM”

Lotus had similarly operated a “Vintage Alternative” brand extension for Rock/Alternative 102.1 KFMA on 94.9 KMXZ-HD2 until earlier this year when the sub-channel and stream were repurposed for the launch of Classic Country “93.3 Hank-FM” K227DX in April.
