Kira Lew Departing Mornings At WOKQ

Kira Lew 97.5 WOKQ PortsmouthKira Lew has announced her upcoming departure from mornings at Townsquare Media Country 97.5 WOKQ Portsmouth NH after nine years at the station.

Lew joined WOKQ in 2016 and has been teamed on morning shows with Bill Fox, Chio Acosta, and since March 2022 with Logan Sherwood. Prior to joining the station, she had a brief stint at Townsquare AC 94.9 WHOM Portland ME.

Lew told listeners that she is relocating to Boston as her husband received a new position, while she is pregnant with their second child. She said, “This decision was by no means an easy one. I am sad not to do radio with my pal Logan every day and to have to say goodbye to our listeners. You are what has gotten me out of bed (at the crack of stupid) every day for 9 years, and I can never thank you enough for that. I got to have a job where I was not only accepted for being 100% myself, but I was celebrated for it. How lucky am I?”

Townsquare is beginning the search for a new morning host for WOKQ. The listing says, “We will miss you, Kira! So now, the historic WOKQ is looking for a morning show content superstar—a storyteller, a connector, a person who knows how to wake up a region with personality, purpose, and a little bit of sparkle.

This isn’t just any opening—it’s on WOKQ 97.5, New England’s country powerhouse for over four decades. Our listeners know us, love us, and start their days with us. So we’re not just hiring a voice—we’re hiring a Seacoast staple. Interested? Send an email to herb.ivy@townsquaremedia.com.”
