Kelly Golden Exits Mornings At WSCC

Kelly Golden 94.3 WSC WSCC CharlestonMorning host Kelly Golden has exited iHeartMedia Conservative Talk “94.3 WSC” WSCC-FM Goose Creek/Charleston SC in a budget cut.

The station is now simulcasting “South Carolina’s Morning News” hosted by Gary David at sister 560 WVOC/103.5 W278CY Columbia.

Golden began her career at 1250 WTMA Charleston and later worked at WDBO Orlando before spending the past two decades at WSCC. She had been co-hosting mornings with Michael ‘Blaze’ DeLaere, who also host middays on Classic Rock “Q104.5” WRFQ.

Golden shared, “Daily ‘Layoff’ headlines continue across our country. And, I am not immune to becoming part of one, especially in an industry where layoffs are just ‘a part of the job’. I can proudly say, this is my first, in a near 30-year career as a News/Talk broadcaster. iHeart Media made the last 20 years of my on-air career better than I, or anyone, could imagine. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity. After a well earned respite, new chapters will be written. Trust that this ‘Golden Eagle’ will continue to soar, all thanks to a global army of friends, fans and family. To you, l’ll forever be humbled, honored and grateful. I am beyond thankful for all the blessing I’ve had, and continue to receive, and pray everyday for our country’s future and everyone’s health, strength, peace and resolve. I can’t wait to share the ways my life’s work has shaped me into who I am today, and where I’ll be in the future. Stay tuned! I Appreciate all of you.”
