Kai Widdrington is bringing his love of festive music to Magic Radio with two special Christmas programmes later this month.
The Strictly Come Dancing winner will host a pair of Magic Radio Christmas specials, airing on Sunday 21 December and Thursday 24 December, after revealing earlier this year how much he enjoys listening to the station.
Across the two programmes, Kai will share a mix of festive favourites, ballroom memories and songs with personal meaning. The playlists will feature artists including Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Wham, the Spice Girls and The Pogues with Kirsty MacColl, reflecting both classic Christmas choices and tracks linked to his dancing career.
Listeners will also hear Kai talk about family traditions, including a Christmas Day ritual where his mum gathers everyone to watch the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special together. That tradition has proved especially memorable in recent years, following Kai’s wins on the show in 2022 and last year. He is currently dancing with Melanie Blatt and hoping to add another success to that list.
Speaking about the programmes, Kai said he was excited to be sharing music with Magic Radio listeners during the festive period. “I’ve been a massive fan of Magic for ages, it’s the station I put on when I need good vibes, good music, and that bit of sparkle,” he said. He added that Christmas is his favourite time of year and described the opportunity as “a dream come true”.
The specials follow Kai’s visit to Magic Radio earlier this year with his Strictly partner Vicky Pattinson, where he spoke openly about his connection to the station and its soundtrack to everyday moments.
Kai’s first Christmas show will be broadcast from 6pm on Sunday 21 December, with the second airing at 7pm on Thursday 24 December.
