
With the start of the Fall book last week, Nielsen Audio has released its revised market rankings.
The biggest story is Houston becoming a top 5 market as it pushes San Francisco down to market #6. That follows the other major Texas market, Dallas/Fort Worth rising ahead of San Francisco ahead of the Spring 2024 numbers. Other PPM market changes include:
- Miami/Fort Lauderdale rising back to #11 as it keeps trading places with Seattle/Tacoma as it drops back to market #12.
- Portland OR rises from #23 to #22 swapping places with Baltimore
- San Antonio moves up from #25 to 24 with St. Louis moving in reverse.
- Raleigh/Durham is up to #34 pushing Kansas City down to #35.
- San Jose rises to #39 with Nashville down to #40.
- Middlesex/Somerset/Union rises from #42 to #41.
- West Palm Beach is up two places from #49 to #47.
- Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point drops from #48 to #47
- Hartford continues to slip down from #56 to #57
The most significant gain in diary markets is Panama City FL as it rises seven spots from market #211 to #204. Victor Valley CA rose four from #117 to #113. The following markets rose by three places: Palm Springs CA (#138 to #135), Trenton NJ (#146 to #143), Ann Arbor MI (#151 to #147), and .
The largest drop in market size went to two markets each down four in the listing. Topeka KS fell from #196 to #200, while Rochester MN was down from #203 to #207. Three were down by three places with Saginaw/Bay City/Midland MI went from #148 to #151, Fort Smith AR from #75 to #178, and Fort Smith AR from #156 to #159.
