iHeartMedia CHR “Hits 96.1” WHQC Shelby/Charlotte NC will begin airing Premiere Networks’ “Fred Show” in mornings starting Monday, January 5.
Before moving to mornings at “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC Chicago in 2011, Christopher ‘Fred’ Frederick hosted “Brotha Fred’s AM Mayhem” on what was then “96.1 The Beat” WIBT and then “Channel 96.1” WHQC. He also co-hosts “The Edge” on WCCB-TV Charlotte, which relaunched earlier this year, after previously co-hosting the show from 2007-10.
WHQC becomes the sixth syndication market for the Fred Show since it entered syndication in 2023 currently airing on iHeartMedia CHR’s in Minot ND, Norfolk VA, Raleigh NC, Salt Lake City UT, and West Palm Beach FL in addition to Chicago and Charlotte. iHeartMedia signed Fred to a contract extension through 2030 in October.
