Longtime Springfield MO personality Jay Fotsch is departing mornings at SummitMedia Country 94.7 KTTS at the end of the week.
Fotsch has hosted mornings at KTTS with Chelsea Banner since February 2024. He previously had a 23 year run at sister CHR “Power 96.5” KSPW Sparta starting in 2001 and hosting mornings there from 2008 until moving to KTTS.
Fotsch wrote on Facebook, “After 25 incredible years of waking up with you on Power 96.5 and 94.7 KTTS, it’s time for me to sign off from the morning show mic. My last day on air will be Friday.”
“It’s hard to put into words what these years have meant to me. I’ve shared coffee with you during your morning drive, laughed with you through the good days, and leaned on you during the tough ones. Radio has a magic that only works because of the connection between the person behind the mic and the people listening, and I’ve felt that connection every single day.”
“To my amazing coworkers, past and present, you have been more than teammates; you have been family. Thank you for making early mornings something I actually looked forward to.
And to you, the listeners, thank you for welcoming me into your cars, kitchens, and workplaces all these years. Springfield, Missouri, is my home, and my family and I will be staying right here in the 417. I’m excited to begin a new project soon that I can’t wait to share with you. In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll still see many of you at Springfield Cardinal games, horse shows, and other community events we all love. The Springfield Cardinals are throwing me a very nice send off this Thursday for my “Radio Retirement” party. You can get $9.47 off tickets in any lower bowl section for this Thursday night’s game with a 7:05pm start time.”
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for making my dream job a reality ….love yas!!!”
KTTS has yet to announce its plans for mornings alongside Banner.
