Don Cristi Joins Griffin Media As Director Of Radio Programming

Don Cristi Griffin Media KMODGriffin Media has announced the addition of Don ‘DC’ Cristi as Director of Operations for its five station cluster in Tulsa.

Cristi spent twenty years programming Rock 97.5 KMOD eventually adding duties as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Tulsa and Oklahoma City until exiting in a round of layoffs in March 2024. He will now oversee a cluster that includes Classic Hits “92.9 The River” KRQV, Country “98.5 The Bull” KVOO, Classic Country “Big Country 99.5” KXBG, CHR “106.9 K-Hits” KHTT, and News/Talk “News On 6 Now” 1170 KOTV.

Griffin Media President Wade Deaver said in a memo, “DC has more than 40 years of radio experience, most recently with iHeartMedia, and has spent many years serving the Oklahoma City and Tulsa communities. During his career, he has led programming initiatives across a variety of formats, including Rock, Country, Classic Country, CHR, Rhythmic CHR, and Classic Rock, among others. Having started as a morning talent, DC’s unrivaled passion for high-quality, local radio programming aligns perfectly with the core Griffin values. He is committed to our mission as Oklahoma’s Own — to keep Oklahomans safe, informed, and connected.”

With Cristi’s arrival, Bruce Law will retire from the company in late October. Law joined Griffin in June 2023 after previously holding roles that included Market Manager for Cumulus Media Grand Rapids MI, Backyard Broadcasting Muncie IN, Townsquare Media Quad Cities IA/IL and Saga Communications Asheville NC.
