FCC Report 9/24: Audacy Proposes To Revive Silent Las Vegas AMs

FCC Actions
Gendreau Broadcast LLC has entered into Consent Decrees and agreed to fines for each of its two stations in Clinton IA.

Variety Hits “Mac 94.7” KMCN Clinton received a $3000 penalty for failing to timely upload multiple issues and program lists to their online public file, did not upload the letter of inquiry and response, required information to their political files, nor include a link to the public file on its website. The company also made a false certification in its renewal application stating that the information was uploaded.

Oldies 1390 KCLN Clinton has agreed to a $6000 civil penalty for all of the violations that KMCN also made and additionally the station was not operating within its licensed parameters. KCLN is licensed to operate with 1kW day and 91 watts night but station logs note it began operating at between 50 and 70 watts last November through at least March and potentially still is without requesting STA authorization.

The FCC had originally proposed $8000 and $11,000 fines respectively for the stations.

The FCC has issued a reminder that all commercial and noncommercial broadcasters are obligated to file their 2023 biennial ownership reports between October 2 and December 1 on on FCC Form 323 or 323-E. All licensees of commercial and non-commercial full power television, Class A television, low power television, AM radio, and FM radio stations must file biennial ownership reports every odd-numbered year with information current as of October 1.
