Longtime Philadelphia personality Kathy Romano is joining Audacy AC “B101” WBEB to host mornings starting Tuesday, September 23.
Romano will be joined by current morning hosts Bobby Smith and Laura Boss. Romano previously spent her career with the “Preston & Steve” morning show first at Alternative “Y100” WPLY before moving over to Rock 93.3 WMMR from 2005 until her exit in May. Romano also host the community affairs show “Her Story” on Variety Hits “95.7 Ben-FM” WBEN-FM and WMMR. She will also host solo from 10am to 12pm.
She commented, “After 22 years in Philadelphia radio, I know how precious that daily connection with listeners really is—being part of their morning routines, their family moments, their everyday lives. I’m thrilled to be spending my mornings with both the loyal B101 family and all the listeners who are following me on this new journey alongside Bobby and Laura!”
Audacy Philadelphia SVP/Market Manager David Yadgaroff said, “Kathy Romano is smart, fun, relatable and deeply connected to our community which makes her the perfect voice for B101. Her energy and personality align perfectly with what B101 listeners love. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Audacy family and confident she’ll lead this new chapter of mornings with authenticity, heart and a whole lot of fun.”
Smith and Boss had taken over mornings in April following the retirement of former morning host Jenn Ryan. Smith had previously hosted afternoons at the station since 2021, while Boss was morning show producer and tracked nights. Bill Tafrow will continue to host afternoons from 12-7pm.
