American Amplifier Technologies Acquires Kathrein Broadcast USA

AAT American Amplifier Technologies Scala KathreinAmerican Amplifier Technologies has announced it has acquired competing radio and television antenna system and component manufacturer Kathrein Broadcast USA.

Kathrein Broadcast USA, which manufactures the SCALA brand, will become a wholly owned subsidiary of AAT. The deal follows Kathrein’s parent company in Germany securing new financing to exit insolvency. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company states that the transaction “aligns with AAT’s long-term growth strategy and reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its capabilities and market presence. The integration of Kathrein USA, Inc.’s operations is expected to be seamless, with continued focus on high-quality service, innovation, and customer support.”

AAT CEO Stephen Wilde said, “This acquisition represents a strategic step forward for AAT. Kathrein USA’s expertise in antenna technology complements our existing operations and will enhance the value we deliver to our customers. We are excited to welcome their talented team and loyal customer base.”

Kathrein Broadcast GmbH Designated CEO Jörg Lippert added, “This step strengthens the global presence of Kathrein Broadcast. AAT has an in-depth understanding of the U.S. market and can position our products there even more effectively. At the same time, we are building on a close partnership with AAT to ensure that our SCALA portfolio remains available worldwide.”
