After making changes at three of its four newly acquired stations in Monroe LA at the end of August, Warrior Media has completed its cluster revamp by flipping Country “92.3 The Wolf” KMYY Rayville to Classic Country “The Ranch 92.3“.
The new brand is positioning as “The Heartbeat of Country” focusing on music from the 1990s and 2000s. Core artists include Garth Brooks, George Strait, Shania Twain, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw. The station says, “We’ve built a brand-new country station that takes you back to when country music was at its best — the 90s and early 2000s. This was the era of powerhouse voices, real stories, and songs that made you want to roll the windows down and sing along.”
KMYY had a mere 0.7 share in the Spring 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings. The new format pushes the station further away from The Radio People’s “K104” KJLO and closer to their Classic Country “99.7 The Legend” 1680 KRJO/99.7 K259CU. Those stations had 10.2 and 3.6 shares respectively.
Warrior Media acquired KMYY with its $450,000 purchase of Stephens Media Group’s cluster. It immediately performed a double-flip shifting “Rock 106” KXRR to Adult R&B “Magic 106.1“, while relaunching the Rock brand on 103.1 KNNW as “103 Rocks“ replacing Rhythmic CHR “103.1 Now-FM”.
