Buffalo-Toronto Public Media has appointed Steve Cichon as Senior Reporter and host of All Things Considered on 88.7 WBFO Buffalo.
Cichon has held roles across Buffalo media with two runs at News/Talk 930 WBEN as a producer from 1993 to 1998 and then as News Director from 2003 to 2013. He has also served as Program Director of Sports 107.7 WNSA from 2000 to 2003 and held roles as a producer at WIVB-TV and News Director at Oldies 1230 WECK along with multiple writing and educational positions.
He wrote, “It didn’t hurt that the new news boss at 88.7 is old friend Michael Mroziak, who I’ve known for more than three decades. That light shining under the door started filling the room. Channel 17, 88.7, 94.5… this is an amazing company. They’ve shown they appreciate what I can bring to the company and the people of Western New York and Southern Ontario over the airwaves. Starting next week, I’m proud to be returning to radio and full-time journalism as Senior Reporter at BTPM. It’s still a bit unbelievable to be back in front of a microphone, and to to be working for a company where it’s literally in the mission statement to foster collaboration, encourage fresh ideas, and provide culturally enriching content. I can’t wait to get started.”
