American General Media Albuquerque Operations Manager ‘Michelle Matthews’ Rigden has passed away after a brief illness.
Matthews joined American General Media in May where she was serving as cluster OM, Program Director of Classic Hits “Big 96.5” KABG and Classic Rock “Coyote 102.5” KIOT, and afternoon host on Hot AC “Mix 105.1” KKRG. She began her career on-air at Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT St. Louis in 1993 and would later hold roles as Music Director at Classic Rock “97.1 The Rock” KXOK-FM St. Louis, Program Director of KTOZ/KXUS Springfield MO, the dual role of APD of 80s Hits “96.5 The Peak” KXPK and MD of Hot AC “Alice 105.9” KALC Denver, Operations Manager for Saga Springfield IL, OM/Regional Programming Manager for Clear Channel Omaha, Wichita and Sioux City, Program Director of Classic Hits 103.3 KLOU St. Louis, OM for Saga Columbus OH from 2015 to 2023, and PD of Cumulus Hot AC 96.3 WDVD Detroit.
Matthews was 54. She is survived by her husband Jonathan and her sons Kiefer and Ryan.
