
Tom Taggart’s Seven Ranges Radio sells Classic Rock 92.3 WXCR New Martinsville and AC “Lite Rock 93R” 93.9 WRRR-FM St. Marys/Parkersburg WV to Brandon Scott Northcraft, Clay Perkins and Clinton Perkins’ Hometown Media for $870,000. The deal includes the studio/office building and towers along with a land lease for one of the sites. The buyer owns Country “C98.3 The Bull” WCEF Ripley WV, while the seller retains AC “V96.9” WVVV Williamstown/Parkersburg. In a separate deal, Taggart’s Mid Ohio Valley Radio Corporation sells 107.9 W300AQ St. Marys to Hometown Media for $50,000. The deal continues to list the seller’s Oldies 1450 WVAM Parkersburg as originating station as it will be leased back to them.
With Alan and Joanna Usher’s Usher Media acquiring NRG Media’s five stations in Grand Island/Hastings/Kearny NE for $3.75 million, the couple is selling their 32% stake in cross-market Legacy Communications, known as GI Family Radio, to partner Joseph J. Vavricek Irrevocable Trust for $1.8 million paid in annual instalments over 25 years at an interest rate of 4.55%. Joanna Usher, the daughter of Vavricek, will resign her position as co-trustee and replaced by Benjamin Lans, while Alan Usher will resign as an officer of the company. Family Life Ministries makes a pair of purchases in Central Pennsylvania. First Richard Cooper’s Cooper Communications sells AC 98.9 WQLV Millersburg PA for $300,000.
Williamsport Independent Media sells 88.5 WXPI Jersey Shore PA for $20,000. The deal will allow Williamsport Independent Media to sign-on its LPFM CP on 97.1 Williamsport after closing.
George and Patricia Kimble’s RadioForSale LLC acquires 920 KKGX/99.1 K256CU Palm Springs from Ivox Radio for $60,000. The deal will include relocating K256CU to the KKGX tower site, which is not included in the deal. A Time Brokerage Agreement took effect on November 1. Ivox Radio retains 1340 KWXY/92.3 K222DA Cathedral City.
Rubin Broadcasting purchases Silent 1310 KKZI Barstow CA from Jeff Chang for $15,000. As part of the deal Chang will purchase airtime on Rubin’s two LPTV’s in Salinas CA. Rubin owns five other radio stations in California.
Kyle Mandapat will acquire 567 KGUM/96.5 K243CS Agana, Guam from Sorenson Pacific Broadcasting for $10,000. KGUM has been mostly silent since October 2023 first due to a failed transmitter exciter and then financial distress. Its former “K57” News/Talk programming moved then to sister “Wave 105.1” KGUM-FM. Sorenson retains its three FMs and two television stations in Guam.

- K-Love purchases El Dorado Broadcasters’ Country 95.1 KTTI and Classic Hits “100.9 The River” KQSR Yuma AZ for $375,000.
- Todd Nixon’s Sticks Media will acquire the silent duo of 102.5 KMSO Missoula and 107.9 KHDV Darby/Hamilton MT from Sheila Callahan & Friends Inc. for $255,000.
- Connoisseur Media filed its deals to acquire Bonneville San Francisco for $10 million and to sell its Bakersfield CA stations to Danny & Kait Hill’s Frequency Media for $1 plus 25% of cash flow for five years, and fifteen stations in Missouri to Carter Media Too for $400,000. Connoisseur has also agreed to sell four stations in Minnesota and South Dakota to affiliates of Christensen Broadcasting.
Translator Sales
Relevant Radio purchases 98.3 W252BR Edgemere MD from Chesapeake Media Partners for $350,000. Following a modification application, Relevant will utilize the translator to rebroadcast their Catholic 750 WBMD Baltimore.
North Atlantic Media acquires 101.7 W269DH Leesburg VA from Hasmukh Shah’s 1520 Radio Asia for $115,000. The buyer will utilize the translator to rebroadcast their Regional Mexican “La Pantera” 1220 WFAX/100.7 W264DB Falls Church.
Sale Withdrawals
Anco Media Group has cancelled the transfer of control application that would have given Christopher Cook’s XCVR Corp. a controlling 50% stake in Dance “Revolution 93.5” WBGF Belle Glade/WZFL Islamorada/W228BY Miami FL for $800,000. Cook will now acquire a smaller stake that will keep Marco Mazzoli as controlling shareholder.
Gow Translators is walking away from its May 2024 application to purchase 92.5 K223CW Houston from SDK Franco for $1.1 million. Gow had been operating the signal as an in-city booster for their Sports “ESPN 97.5” KFNC Mont Belvieu via Radio One’s 97.9 KBXX-HD2 Houston. With the end of the deal it is now running Christmas music rebroadcasting 880 KJOZ Conroe.
