Hoosier AM/FM Sells Marion Duo To Taylor University Broadcasting

Star 106.9 WXXC MarionTaylor University Broadcasting is expanding into Marion IN with the purchase of “Your Country 99.3” WCLC Van Buren and CHR “Star 106.9” WXXC Marion from Hoosier AM/FM for $435,000.

The buyer’s non-commercial Christian AC 90.3 WBCL Fort Wayne currently airs in Marion on 101.3 W267BN along with eight other signals in northeastern Indiana, western Ohio, and southern Michigan. It also operates Gospel “Rhythm & Praise 94.1” WRNP Roanoke/Fort Wayne IN.

Hoosier AM/FM principles Bruce Danziger, Burton Barlow and Keith Thomas retain Sports 860 WMRI and Oldies 1400 WBAT/105.5 W288DN Marion along with three stations in Kokomo IN, which a sale to 3 Towers Broadcasting was announced in July 2024, but never filed with the FCC. 3 Towers is operating the two Kokomo area FMs under a Time Brokerage Agreement.

They also own Vox AM/FM, which owns five stations in the Burlington VT/Plattsburgh NY areas. There is a pending complaint against the seller as the landlord of the company’s studio facilities in both Kokomo and Marion allege that the company owes $398,056.21 in back rent plus other damages and violations through August 1. The Kokomo stations reportedly relocated in May.
