Radio One’s Baltimore cluster will see a leadership transition at the end of the year as Howard Mazer retires as VP/General Manager and will be succeeded by current Director of Sales Dave Willner.

Mazer has led the Radio One Baltimore cluster since December 2001. He originally joined the company in 1992 rising from General Sales Manager to Director of Sales to Station Manager before taking the cluster leadership role. He also held roles as General Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager, and Account Executive at Scripps CHR “B104” WBSB Baltimore. Urban One Audio Division Co-President Eddie Harrell commented, “For more than three decades, Howard has been a steady, visionary leader for our Baltimore cluster. His commitment to excellence, his instinct for developing talent, and his deep understanding of this market have strengthened our stations and helped shape the culture of our entire audio division.”

Willner has been with the cluster since 1999 first as an Account Executive rising to National Sales Manager in 2000 and Director of Sales in 2005. He previously held roles in promotions, traffic, on-air and sales in Baltimore. Harrell said, “Dave has had the benefit of learning the business under Howard’s guidance for many years, and he embodies the forward-thinking leadership we need for the next chapter. I’m confident he will build on Howard’s strong foundation and continue to advance the success of the Baltimore market.”

Radio One operates Hip Hop “92Q” WERQ, Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM, Gospel “Praise 106.1” WLIF-HD2, Black Talk 1010 WOLB, and Gospel “Spirit 1400” WWIN in Baltimore.
