Connoisseur Media is continuing the restructuring of its broadcast holdings with the sale of four stations in Minnesota and South Dakota to affiliates of Christensen Broadcasting.
Christensen Broadcasting LUV LLC will acquire Country “K101” KLQL-FM and Soft AC 800 KQA Luverne MN. Christensen Broadcast Group Inc. will acquire “Jammin Country” 103.1 KJAM-FM and News/Talk 1390 KJAM Madison SD. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Christensen Broadcasting currently owns three stations: Oldies 98.7 KISD Pipestone, Country 106.1 KJOE Slayton, Classic Country “Blazin Country” 1050 KLOH/94.1 K231DG Pipestone, and Christian “KDWC” 99.3 K257FP Pipestone/KJOE-HD3, which serve areas just east of Sioux Falls SD as do the Luverne stations, while the Madison pair are located in the areas northwest of Sioux Falls. The company also operates two HD/streaming brands “KC Rocks” KJOE-HD2 and CHR “KMEM” KJOE-HD4.
They commented, “We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen locally focused broadcasting within these communities. Our organization remains committed to delivering reliable, community-centered programming that reflects the values and voices of the region. We look forward to honoring each station’s legacy while supporting their continued growth and service.”
Connoisseur CEO Jeff Warshaw commented, “Luverne and Madison are markets that did not fit into the vision we have for Connoisseur. We looked for local operators that we felt had experience in these communities and could serve them best. We are very happy that Christensen Broadcasting shares our values and stepped up to the challenge.” Broker on the transactions is Kalil & Co., Inc. Connoisseur Media had legal representation by Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, while the Christensen companies were represented by Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth, PLC
