Former Audacy Regional President Doug Abernethy is joining Radio One as Regional Vice President overseeing Houston and Dallas starting November 10.
Abernethy exited Audacy in March after a decade run where he held roles as Market Manager for Miami and then Austin before adding regional oversight of sixteen additional markets. He previously held roles as Director of Sales for Cox Houston, AM/FM Dallas, Radio One Washington DC, and Entercom Pittsburgh before spending ten years in the role he is now returning to at Radio One.
He told Mike McGuff, “I had the honor of leading all the stations with my time at Cox and Radio One. Now they are under one roof. It was truly a heartfelt family reunion. It is such a humbling opportunity to lead such a great group of talented people. I look forward to reconnecting with our advertisers, listeners, and community.”
McGuff reports that current Radio One Houston VP/Market Manager Pamela McKay, wha has led the cluster since 2017, will relocate to Atlanta in the same role. McKay will fill the position in Atlanta that is currently being done by Radio One Audio Division co-President Deon Levingston since the retirement of Tim Davies at the end of 2024. She previously has held roles as General Sales Manager and National Sales Manager for Clear Channel Houston and Market President for iHeartMedia Austin and San Antonio.
