BBC Radio 1 confirms autumn line-up for early breakfast shows

BBC Radio 1 has announced its autumn presenter line-up for Friday Early Breakfast and Radio 1’s Life Hacks.

Beth Wallace, Jack Remmington and Ash Holme will host Friday Early Breakfast (Fridays, 5am–7am) in monthly rotation. The slot, which began in January 2021, is designed to give new and rising talent a national platform.

Beth Wallace will begin the rotation in September, having first hosted on Radio 1 during the 2024 Christmas Takeover.

She also presents on Forth 1 in Scotland and was nominated for Best New Presenter at the 2025 ARIAS. She said she was “absolutely buzzing” to join the station, promising “laughs, good vibes and fun times” to kick off Fridays.

In October, presenting duo Jack Remmington and Ash Holme will step into the slot. The pair first appeared on Radio 1 in 2023 for the ‘For You Page’ takeover.

Ash has more than two million followers for her comedy sketches and was part of the Love Island: Aftersun panel this year.

Jack is known for pop culture commentary, red carpet hosting and co-presenting the BBC Sounds podcast Famously… In Love. They said they are “so excited” to be back on the station, bringing “energy and chaos” to Friday mornings.

Meanwhile, Radio 1’s Life Hacks (Sundays, 4pm–6pm) will see new voices joining while Shanequa Paris is on maternity leave. Charley Marlowe will co-host with Lauren Layfield in September, with Olympian Lina Nielsen stepping in during October. Both will also co-host The Official Chart: First Look on Sundays at 6pm.

Head of Radio 1 Aled Haydn Jones said: “Supporting and developing new presenting talent is at the heart of what we do, and the schedule this autumn is a great example of that.”
