FCC Report 9/14: No Legal ID Leads To Notice Of Violation For WMVX

Costa-Eagle Radio Ventures Limited Partnership Classic Hits “Valley 98.9” 1110 WMVX Salem NH has been issued a Notice of Violation for failing to legally identify itself. On May 1, and FCC agent monitored WMVX between 11:30am and 1:30pm “and observed the station was broadcasting an unmodulated carrier with no station identification announcements.”

FC New Orleans Inc’s “La Calle 97.9″ K250BA New Orleans LA has entered a consent decree with a $4000 fine for originating programming. An FCC agent first noted the translator originating programming in January 2020 when then parent signal 104.1 KVDU-HD2 Houma was off the air with a Notice of Violation issued in February 2020. KVDU went silent in August 2021 after its tower was destroyed by Hurricane Ida, although the translator kept originating programming until at least April 2022 when it began leasing 640 KTIB Thibodaux to feed programming.

License Cancellations

Beasley Media Group turned in 860 WAEC Atlanta. WAEC had been silent since June 2024 when Beasley Family Towers sold its 17.2 acre tower site to a housing developer.

The FCC has cancelled JMK Communications JMK Communications 1540 KREA Honolulu HI after records showed the station has been silent since March 1, 2024.

Riverbend Communications surrendered 690 KEII Blackfoot/101.1 K266BY Pocatello ID.

Southern Consumers Education Foundation turns in the license to its 88.3 KIEE St. Martinville LA.

The FCC cancelled the license of The Estate of Frank Van Dyke Hobb’s 950 KRRP Coushatta LA after the original license surrender was filed in February 2022.

Pirate Actions

The FCC has issued a $920,000 penalty against Masner Beauplan for operating “Radio Leve Kanpe” on 91.7 in Irvington NJ. Beauplan failed to respond to previous FCC inquiries following its original notice in September 2024.

Wilner Baptiste has been fined $40,000 for operating “M-One Radio Live” on 94.1 in Spring Valley NY. Baptiste also failed to respond to the FCC’s original order in September 2024.

A Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture was sent to Pelege Marcellin and Radio Energy Inc. for operating “Radio Energy Boston” on 1620 in Mattapan MA and 1640 in Brockton MA. The FCC began investigating following interference complaints from 1600 WUNR Boston. Following an inspection and communicating with an associate of the owner, both signals were turned off in September 2024.
