FCC Report 10/8: Station Counts Show Declines

The FCC released its quarterly station count list showing continued drops in the number of AM, commercial FM, and LPFM totals. Combined FM Translators and boosters are also down compared to the end of 2022.

With its pending sale of 1470 WWNN Pompano Beach, Vic Canales Media Group files to have “True Oldies” 95.3 W237BD Boca Raton and 96.9 W245BC Lauderdale Lakes FL be fed via Audacy’s 104.3 WSFS-HD3 Miramar.
After the sale of 93.5 WVIP New Rochelle NY, Sound of Long Island’s “Radio Korea NY” 98.3 W252CS Palisades Park NJ and 101.5 W268BY Queens NY move their parent signal to Audacy’s 94.7 WXBK-HD3 Newark NJ.
HHawaiiMedia files to update where three of their Honolulu translators have been broadcasting from. Alternative “96.7 The X” K244EO is paired with 1370 KHXM Pearl City. Filipino “Pinoy Power 104.7” K284AL is fed via SummitMedia’s 100.3 KCCN-HD2 Honolulu. Smooth Jazz “Jazzy 107.5” K298BA originates on 1130 KPHI Honolulu.

India’s Red FM launches Quiz India Movement

Indian network 93.5 RED FM, has launched a gaming concept on radio: the Quiz India Movement.It aims to capture the essence of trivia, India’s knowledge and light-hearted fun. The first season of Quiz India Movement began on 2nd October and will run till 19th November.Each season of Quiz India Movement is based on a certain theme. This year, Quiz India Movement by RED FM is giving cricket fans 49 days of rewards with a prize pool of Rs 2.1 million y answering questions on a dedicated microsite. The show is being hosted by cricket expert RJ Raunac.
